‘Kemba’, Scored by Stanley A. Smith, Now Streaming on BET+

Kemba, scored by Stanley A. Smith (he/him), premieres today and is now streaming exclusively on BET+. An MPI Original produced in association with BET Original Films, the film is directed by Kelley Kali and based on the true story of executive producer and now criminal justice advocate Kemba Smith. The film follows a sheltered college student who unknowingly falls in love with a drug kingpin and gets involved in his drug-dealings. She ultimately receives a heavy sentence for her boyfriend's crimes and becomes the focus of a campaign driven by the black community to free her from the criminal justice system.

Kemba will also be screening tonight for the opening night of the Social Justice Now Film Festival, 7pm PST in Los Angeles at the Sony Pictures Studios Lot. For more information about the festival and screenings click here.
